    Question Problem with GRT-III trigger

    Evening all,

Just replaced the blade in my trigger unit for my Gamo and now it doesn't seem to have any 1st/2nd stages. It is now extremely sensitive and when you touch it, it fires instantly. The same trigger unit with my standard Gamo trigger in, had 1st/2nd stages previously.

Is it just a case of adjusting the grub screws located on the underside of actual trigger?

Any comments or replies will be most helpful

    Cheers

    Danny

Sorry, my mistake I had the impression that they were 2 stage. Well what I'm trying to say then is there is no 'play' at all in the trigger; once you have cocked the rifle it is prone to fire the INSTANT you apply any pressure to the trigger. Surely there must be some give in it it seems too dangerous.

Or is it the fact that the trigger feels so different to my standard Gamo trigger that was previously in it, that I'm just not used to it yet..?

I reckon Lyn would be the best bloke to ask, he is called Venoman on here, you could try giving him a PM, unless he reads this.
That sounds a bit too sensitive to me mate.
PCP: BSA Superten, JB blueprinted with 4-16x50 MTC Mamba (for sale). Theoben Rapid7 Mk1.
Springer: HW77K, V.Mach tuned with NS Mountmaster 3-9x40AO.

Thanks mate I will PM now and see what he says..definately need to sort it somehow or I'll put the Gamo trigger blade back in, it's just too lethal and unpredictable.

Hopefully it is just over adjusted, thats what I was thinking but I've not had time to tweak it yet; I'm going to have a look in a minute. Unfortunately, it didnt come with instructions as I got it off someone for cheap, managed to get it in easy enough..

If I do get stuck, I will check on 'Archer Airguns' for the instructions.

Had 10 minutes before trying to fine tune the trigger. Good news is that it isn't dangerously sensitive now, has a bit more to it than yesterday when it really was lethal to touch. More tweaking will hopefully sort it out but it seems like if you make small adjustments, they make a big difference. Or it could be the fact that I'm a bit heavy on it as I'm not used to feel of this trigger yet; the standard Gamo trigger that was in previously needed you to be.
